Covid-19 has affected people in many different ways. An unexpected consequence of people being sequestered in their homes is a home improvement boom. Interior renos, exterior renos, decks, sunrooms, kitchens, driveways, you name it – homeowners across North America and Europe are fixing up their homes like never before. In nearly 29 years of business, Craft-Bilt has witnessed some ups and downs, but nothing like this current demand for our products.
You may be aware of a recent Canada-wide lumber shortage and there have been other delays on everything from appliances to furniture.
You can imagine this demand would increase the time required to process your order here at Craft-Bilt, and that is true. But in addition to that, our vendors for glass, aluminum, and other raw materials have doubled or tripled their lead times.
When it comes to aluminum extrusions, we have over 50,000 kilograms of purchase orders at any given time. Promised shipment dates are regularly moved. So if you have received a shipping date, only to have it moved, and moved again, we apologize and we know you are frustrated, as are we. It is not our intention to give you a moving target, we are doing our best with the information being provided by our vendors.
Many clients are dealing with Craft-Bilt for the first time based on our excellent reviews across many social platforms like Homestars, Facebook, and Google. These reviews are very important to the success of our business. After your Craft-Bilt product is installed we hope we can count on a great review despite the delays.
All the best and stay safe.
