Pleated Screens from Craft-Bilt are a snap to install. If you want to store your screen indoors for the winter, the screen cassette simply snaps off the mounting brackets. But the warranty is unaffected whether you leave the screen out all year or not. How likely is a warranty claim? Not very, when you are using high-quality PET (polyethylene terephthalate) screen mesh. Other pleated or rolling screens use PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), fiberglass or polyester. A third-party test report shows that PET screen mesh out lasts PP by several times!

Retractable Pleated Screen Installation

• Our Top Track permits ⅛ inches of upward and downward travel to accommodate your uneven floor.
• If your floor is not level, you can shim the Top Track so it is parallel to the floor.
• If the height at the sides of your openings is not equal, specify the lower dimension when ordering. Shim the Top Track so it is level or parallel to the floor, bearing in mind the note above.
• For the inside mount installation, you usually don’t have to make any deductions from your RO (Rough Opening) since you can trim the Top rail or the side rails if necessary without affecting anything. However, if you have to cut the Jambs more than ⅛ inches, you will have limited upward flexibility in the Top Track, so your floor should be flat and level.
• For face mount installation, add at least 1¼” to the width and 2½” to the height to ensure the face mount frame clears the opening.
• For inside mount installation, make sure your door jamb is at least 1¾” deep since that is the thickness of our pleated screen frame.
