A Canadian-made Grand Vista 3-season sunroom installed over an existing Ottawa-area deck, with a translucent polycarbonate corrugated roof and Vista side-sliding windows overlooking a private garden with a waterfall. This project was installed by Hauspro – Carleton Place near Ottawa.
The homeowners wanted to reclaim their existing deck as a true living space rather than a seasonal afterthought. A Grand Vista 3-season sunroom from Craft-Bilt gave them exactly that: a fully enclosed, light-filled room that bridges indoors and out without sacrificing the garden view they had spent years cultivating.
The roof system uses a translucent polycarbonate panel that diffuses natural light evenly across the space throughout the day. It keeps the room bright without the glare of a full-glass ceiling, and the panels shed rain cleanly with no pooling. The Vista side-sliding windows run along two full walls, opening wide for cross-ventilation in warm weather and locking tight when temperatures drop.
Installation was completed over the existing deck structure, preserving the hardscaping below. The sand-coloured aluminum framing blends with the surrounding garden tones and coordinates with the natural materials used in the landscaping, including the stone waterfall feature visible through the side glazing. The overall profile is clean and low-profile from the exterior.
Grand Vista sunroom systems are manufactured in Canada by Craft-Bilt, and the components are engineered for the temperature swings common in the Ottawa region. The aluminum framing resists corrosion and requires no painting or staining. The homeowners now use the space from early spring through late fall, and the enclosure has extended their enjoyment of the garden by several months on either end of the season.
